Alt-rock band Evanescence will be making its first-ever appearance in Happy Valley at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec.

1, at the Bryce Jordan Center, University Park, with electronic rockers Julien-K in the opening slot. Evanescence has been on the road all year supporting its sophomore release, "The Open Door," which topped The Billboard 200 chart when it was released a year ago. The set sold more than 447,000 copies its first week out and reached platinum status a month later.

It has since sold nearly 2 million copies in the United States. Videos for the singles "Good Enough," "Sweet Sacrifice," "Lithium" and "Call Me When You're Sober" can be accessed at Evanescence's MySpace page. A University Park student ticket presale begins at noon Wednesday Oct.

17, at the Bryce Jordan Ticket Center, HUB-Robeson Center, Penn State Tickets Downtown and Eisenhower Auditorium. Tickets are $20 with the sale of one ticket per ID. Lion Cash is accepted at the Jordan Ticket Center and the HUB-Robeson Center only.

Reserved and general admission tickets are $37.50 and $32.50 for the public.
