I guess Johnny Rotten finally ran out of money. they got back together for THIS? does rotten think everyone has forgotten how indignant he was about being inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame?
you washed-up cockring! the pistols songs are still pertinant to this day and the sound has not waned either. the band will be making money on a new generation of sales (if torrents don'y have anything to do with it) so good on the band and johny.
Those quick to preach of "selling out", what have you been doing all YOUR life? and remember too, god save the queen, she made YOU a moron. The Pistols have had reunion shows before.
If you're bitching out Rotten for getting back together for this, then you missed the earlier shows on the Filthy Lucre tour in 96. The original bassist Glen Matlock is playing the bits. Hell, he played most of the bass parts on the album too.
Any way you slice it, GH is a powerhouse series and an assured moneymaker. The Pistols are long past any real relevance, so why not jam to the original punk group? Not to mention that the band has never really claimed to be together for any reason other then to make money.
. @Frank G - Sid only played bass on one studio session, and they didn't keep it. Even live, the word is he didn't play bass so much as sneer and spit and bleed from ragged track marks.
Your stupid T-Shirt icon is a lie. Sid Vicious was nothing but a sock puppet. That people still idolize him despite his utter lack of talent baffles me, but at least he serves as a great way for posers to label themselves.
The REAL bassist for the Sex Pistols, Glen Matlock, is still alive, and playing the reunions, and I assume was there for the re-mastering, just like he was the session player on the originals. People didn't like Sid because of his talent. His skills, non-existent as they were, were hardly what people found interesting about him.
It was that sneer and the look and the attitude and hitting rowdy concertgoers with his guitar that people liked. It was the image. Style over substance.
