X FACTOR finalist Kerry McGregor yesterday told how being on the show had helped cure her post-natal depression.
Kerry, who broke her back when she was 13 and is now in a wheelchair, was booted out of the competition on Saturday.
Last night, as she prepared to celebrate her 32nd birthday, she told of her struggle after son Joshua, now 18 months old, was born.

She said: "Being on X Factor has been the natural high I needed to go home and be the mother Joshua needs.
"I had the baby blues for the best part of a year.
"I found it difficult to adjust to being a full-time mum as I was always so career-driven.

"I love my son dearly and I would never trade that for the world.
"I'm proud of the experience on X Factor and I'm sure he will benefit."
Kerry, from Pumpherston, West Lothian, also revealed she had been prescribed anti-depressants.

She said: "I wasn't keen on taking the pills.
"I've been through a lot in my life but I had never depended on pills before to pull me through the lows.
"I only took them for a short period of time and I felt they muddled and guddled my head.

"
Kerry talked about the tragedy that claimed the life of her father.
She said: "He went out to the pub and the next thing the police were at the door saying he has been knocked down by a drunken driver. I was a six-year-old girl.

"My mum had to take charge of everything and it made her determined and strong-willed and she passed that on to me. I wouldn't be the person I am without her."
Kerry now hopes to persuade ex-boyfriend Dean Robertson, Joshua's dad, to give love another chance.

She said: "I would like to think we could get back together. That would be the perfect fairytale ending.
