Gay film festival grows up a bit, but keeps its punk edge

"People really like and respond to what we do because they've come to expect a festival that's fun, challenging and well run. Our experience allows us to put this kind of event together. .

.. I think we're successful because we stay grounded in a Northwest aesthetic or state of being," Plourde says.

"We have a great reputation nationally and internationally, and bring films from across the world to our festival, but we stay true to our local audience and filmmakers. We take the time to present programs that speak to people here, and encourage local LGBT filmmakers to make films so that they can be shared with audiences everywhere.
