Franti said he spent three weeks earlier this year recording in Los Angeles with producer Matt Wallace. "I loved his work when Faith No More in the late '80s and early '90s," Franti tells Billboard.com.
"We did a bunch of songs with him. Some of it I really dug, and some I felt still needed to develop, so we went down to Jamaica to work with Sly Robbie (who also appeared on 'Yell Fire'). Now we're gonna get together in the mixing lab and combine the two different elements of roots and dub reggae with the rock stuff.
