He was withdrawn from the second string's clash with the Hammers on Tuesday at St Andrews just a minute before the half time interval. It is not yet known if it is a recurrence of his hamstring trouble so the Blues will be keeping their fingers crossed that is not the case. Neil Danns scored a brace, including one penalty, while Wilson Palcios added a third for the Blues to clinch the victory.
Keeper Colin Doyle did his first-team chances no harm with a double penalty save. Meanwhile Bruce has admitted that Spanish midfielder Oubina's long-term knee ligament injury would represent a major blow to the Blues this season. The year-long loan arrival from Celta Vigo suffered the injury in the recent draw at Liverpool and is unlikely to play for the club again.
