Bell and Erbie Bowser, still kicking out soulful music around Austin thanks to T.D. Bell's son, Lawrence, and front man Mel Davis.
In addition to hosting the return of Blues Happy Hour, the month of September also celebrates the new incarnation of the Victory Grill Cafe's. The newly re-constructed cafe will feature original Victory Grill menu recipes, a daily soul food entree, and a late-night short-order menu. These events mark a new season for the Victory Grill with more consistent live music and a more pronounced collaborative relationship with DiverseArts for booking and management of live music programming.
The Victory Grill is named a Texas Treasure by the statewide organization Preservation Texas and is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. And, it is Austin's true home of the blues. Come out, feed your soul, and join the Victory Grill and DiverseArts in supporting this important cultural institution icon and pillar of Austin's music history!
