After a couple of years of seemingly happenstance concerts, film screenings and sundry happenings, EMPAC has for the first time announced a slate of events that can be called a season. The range of artistic activity is decidedly broad, encompassing experimental music, modern dance, and hybrids of film and theater, as well as artists from Europe and across the United State -- including Capital Region composer Neil Rolnick, who's 60th birthday will be celebrated with a concert. Already this month, EMPAC has presented a commissioned film that was shot in Troy, and the Australian dance company BalletLab.

In sum, the fall lineup is a good indication of the diversity of events that will occur in the four performing spaces of the EMPAC building, which is slated to open next fall. Here's the full schedule of upcoming events produced by EMPAC. All locations are on the RPI campus unless noted.

Admission is free unless a ticket price is given. For reservations, call the EMPAC event line at 276-3921. More information is available at: http://www.
