Despite Billy Corgan's plans to release the new Smashing Pumpkins album Zeitgeist on 7/7/07, it appears he will be bowing to record industry convention and putting out the record on a Tuesday. July 7 is a Saturday, so Zeitgeist will see release on July 10 instead. Tickets went on sale over the weekend for the Pumpkins' residency in Asheville, NC and promptly crashed Ticketweb's servers.
Meanwhile, three more dates have been added for the band's San Francisco residency later this summer. And last but not least, the new single "Tarantula" made its debut last Friday at radio. Episodes 11 and 12 of Linkin Park's LPTV are now posted on the band's YouTube channel.
In Episode 11, drummer Rob Bourdon discusses tracking drums on Minutes To Midnight and Mike Shinoda shows off his artwork. Episode 12 follows Linkin Park on their photo shoot at Salton Sea where they captured the photo that is the Minutes To Midnight album cover. As previously reported, the band's Projekt Revolution tour kicks off July 25, featuring Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, HIM, Placebo and Julien-K on the Main Stage and Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, The Bled, Styles of Beyond and Madina Lake on the Revolution Stage.
Puddle Of Mudd will release their first album in four years, Living On Borrowed Time, sometime in late July. The new single, "Famous," recently arrived at radio. The band's lineup has turned over in recent years, with new guitarist Christian Stone and new drummer Ryan Yerdon now in the fold, according to Billboard.
Puddle Of Mudd will be on tour into the summer, both headlining and opening for Breaking Benjamin Three Days Grace, as well as Nickelback in Canada. Paul McCartney's new album, Memory Almost Full, is due on June 5, but the former Beatle says he will not launch a full world tour until after after his divorce from Heather Mills is finalized. "I'm going to do bits and pieces to support the album, but it won't be a major tour until possibly next year, and that's down to personal circumstances," McCartney told the U.
K.'s Sunday Mirror.
