If this past February was a single, ominous cloud, then this is the foreshadowed thunderstorm in all its full-blown, gloomy glory.
Following in the feedback squalls of s picker-outter person, Thurston Moore, Bristol trio will curate the 2007 edition of the Nightmare Before Christmas, according to the act s . The landmark event goes down December 7-9, 2007 at ATP s usual stomping grounds, Butlins Holiday Centre in wee Minehead, England.

And that s not the half of it. In addition to compiling the fest s menu of sure-to-be eclectic and electrifying fare, Beth Gibbons, Geoff Barrow, and Adrian Utley will reconvene for their first full-on performance of new material in nearly 10 years.
Indeed, this year marks the tenth anniversary of Portishead s Portishead, the act s second-- and, er, most recent-- release.

New album this year, guys? Maybe?
We have always loved the All Tomorrow s Parties set up and we re happy our first shows will be there, wrote the band in a message on their site.

It s great to have the opportunity to introduce bands we love or have influenced us. We ve chosen a diverse collection of artists to play with us and we re really looking forward to it
Those artists have not yet been announced, but Pitchfork is banking on a diverse collection of head bands, including Radiohead, Talking Heads, Mot o rhead, and, hell, Pigeonhead.
And you may perhaps be aware that Pitchfork and ATP have partnered to present an installment of -- featuring Sonic Youth, GZA/Genius, and Slint-- at the opening night of the , July 13 at Chicago s Union Park.

Goths at band camp rejoice! Sure, we showed you earlier today of playing with cool cats Akron/Family and Miho Hatori in Brazil were neat and all, but not every bill can be so bucolic and below-the-radar. Shara Worden and the rest of MBD will bring their lovely antics on tour with the puzzling (but popular!

) pizzicato powerhouse this summer, in an explosion of classically trained proportions.
Rasputina have a new album out on June 26 titled Oh Perilous World (because Inverted was taken). They re on the road all summer, with none other than the Jana Hunter supporting in July, before My Brightest Diamond take over.

In other My Brightest Diamond news, old girl pretty bad a few weeks back, though by the looks of the Resfest snaps, she s gonna live to swoon another day. Broken leg or not, Worden can Man, is it ever epic in here! Sprawling Montreal sextet -- still riding the -issued -- have announced their sprawling tour itinerary for the next few months.

Currently making their way through the European continent, they ll head back to their native land-mass soon, before slipping southward to the States, picking up a few dates with Wolf Parade spinoff-made-good , who issue their praiseworthy on May 22 (hey, that s tomorrow!). Two big names, far from home, fighting for dominance on one bill, with no word on Handsome Furs dates for July.

.. could a massive meeting of the titanic Canadian troupes be far behind?

Hard to say, but here s hoping.
kick off their North American tour tonight (May 21) in Milwaukee.
The Omaha quintet will wind their way from the Midwest to East Coast to West Coast and back to their hometown for the last stop of the tour on June 14.

And ? Still no news. Sorry.

Exclamatory noise-punkers will release their second album, Lose All Time, August 15 in the U.S. on !

Due to , it s the only You Say party popping off in the States for the next four-and-a-half years! Unless, of course, they put out another record! Lose All Time is already out in their native Canada!

And it drops June 18 in the U.K. thanks to !

You Say Party! We Say Die! is heading out on tour starting tonight!

They ll kick things off in Canada and then head to Europe!

Plus Les Savy Fav, Asobi Seksu, Jesu, the Good the Bad the Queen, Fennesz, more! -- still the nation s leading purveyors of Strattera-supressing animated comedy programs-- has dipped a toe or two into the indie talent pool of late, what with the project, indie-heavy soundtrack, and partnerships with the likes of and .

Today, they re offering , a downloadable album of new and/or exclusive and/or rare and-- best of all-- FREE tracks from some of indie s biggest artists. The Rapture, TV on the Radio, Les Fav Fav, Liars, Broken Social Scene, Jesu, Fennesz, and the Good, the Bad, and the Queen all contribute. Could this generosity be a ploy to stir up promotion for a new show chock full of geometrically-shaped characters, odd voices, and non sequiturs?

Whatever, man, free jams are free jams; though I feel personally responsible for reminding them that the ____ Scratchy name is, in a meta sort of way, already taken.
You ll also wanna peep the Adult Swim-styled video for ancient TV on the Radio cut Me-I on the album s website, yours in linkage at the bottom of the page.
Photos: My Brightest Diamond / Akron/Family / Miho Hatori [Sao Paulo, Brazil; 05/18-05/20/07] Music videos, independent shorts, and experimental features comprised the bulk of the program of fare at digital film festival , which touched down in S o Paulo, Brazil this past weekend.

But fest-goers were also treated to a trio of real life performances from , , and (ex-Cibo Matto), presumably welcome spectacles after many long hours spent staring at pixels. Really cool pixels, but still.
Thanks to reader for these photos from the event.

Surprise! The MC (and cast member) known for saying roll that shit, light that shit, smoke it is a pot smoker! According to a report, , aka Clifford Smith, was arrested for possession of marijuana in New York City on Thursday, May 17.

On Smith s way into Manhattan from Brooklyn via the Battery Tunnel at around 10 p.m., bridge-and-tunnel officer Donald Johnston stopped him because of an expired inspection sticker.

When Smith rolled down the window of his 2005 green Lincoln, Johnston smelled marijuana smoke and saw two blunts and other drug paraphernalia.
After Smith then admitted he had about 28 more grams of weed in the car, he was taken into custody without an argument. A police source told the Post, I guess he was feeling mellow, but the arrest couldn t really have taken Smith by surprise.

Method Man was arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court, and he was released Friday, May 18 on his own recognizance, according to the Post. Do you have a news tip for us? Anything crazy happen at a show you attended recently?

Do you have inside info on the bands we cover? Is one of your favorite artists (that's not somebody you know personally) releasing a new record you'd like to see covered? You will remain completely anonymous, unless we are given your express permission to reveal your identity.

(Please note that publicists, managers, booking agents, and other artist representatives are generally exempt from this rule, but will also be granted anonymity if requested.
