After a few days in Montevideo ( Nov. 4th -8th) I have arranged a rental car for 4 days.
Besides Punta del Este and Colonia (the first because it is an obviuos drive by and the second because I will see it in transit between Uruguay and Argentina) what sites, towns and even estancias could you recommend I see? Because of the lack of guidebooks I have spent a lot of time with the internet including VT trying to find places to see and places to stay. It seems that there are lots of estancias and rural hotels but many are not appropriate for a solo traveller, and most do not include pricing or reasonable booking information.
Can I find and book these places through some agency after I arrive in Uruguay? I will really appreciate any VT help you can give me. bob
