On film: Pete Doherty before he was a shambles
Before Kate Moss, The Libertines, Babyshambles, and drug addiction, Pete Doherty was an average cocky teenager desperate to get his hands on his favourite band's new album. This vintage clip shows an innocent Pete being interviewed by MTV whilst waiting to the buy the latest Oasis album. Showing early signs of his talent for poetry the teenager declares: "I subscribe to the Umberto Eco view that Noel Gallagher's a poet and Liam's a town crier and I've always seen that as a perfect combination.
" A friend of Pete's told Daily Mail sister paper London Lite: "These photos are shocking. They don't just show the ravishes of time, they show how much Pete has abused his body over the past few years. Scroll down for more.

"It's difficult to imagine him as the innocent looking boy in these shots, all smiles for the camera.
"Now when he smiles all you see are his yellow teeth. "Perhaps seeing this may shock Pete into quitting the drugs and starting to look after himself properly. "He won't be happy to see how much he's deteriorated, nobody would.
Just imagine what he'll look like in another 13 years." Ironically Pete has had a troubled relationship with Oasis since he shot to fame, Liam criticised him for failing to show up at a gig where he was due to support them and Noel has slammed him as "overrated".
