Gospel Artist Yolanda Adams Becomes Part Of Columbia Records

New York, NY (AHN) - Grammy Award winner Yolanda Adams has signed on to Columbia Records. The contemporary gospel singer is in the process of recording holiday tunes, set to be released in October.
Several of Adams' gospel albums have landed at the top of the Billboard Gospel charts including "Mountain High .

.. Valley Low," "Christmas With Yolanda Adams," "Believe" and 2005's "Day By Day.

" In 1987, her debut album, "Just As I Am," also reached the top ten of Billboard's Top Gospel Albums.
Of her recent move to the new record label, Steve Barnett of Columbia Records, said in a press release, "Yolanda Adams is truly the 'first lady of modern gospel' and we are proud to have her on the Columbia Records roster. Her pioneering blend of Rhythm and Blues, pop and gospel continues to inspire her fans and transform the musical landscape.


"Her music has brought me a lot of joy over the years and we are all very excited to hear where Yolanda is going next."
Adams has teamed up with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to work on a Columbia record, slated to hit stores early next year. Her holiday album is set to be released on Tuesday, October 16.
