Don't hold your breath for a full-blown Libertines reunion.
Although Pete Doherty and Carl Barat came together to revisit their time as Libertines in a show earlier this month ( ), it's not going to derail their current bands -- or even get the ball rolling for The Libertines. Barat told Dotmusic that, despite the interest in seeing the songwriting team united, the duo won't revive the Libertines moniker, at least for now.
That's probably a smart plan. Barat has his hands full with recording Dirty Pretty Things' follow-up to last year's (Geffen), and Doherty's Babyshambles is due to head into the studio for its major-label debut, and follow-up to last year's (Rough Trade).
