Folks around here may remember Talaga, a 44-year-old Bay graduate, from his days playing the organ during Mass at Holy Trinity and St. Norbert's churches from 1977 to public radio station, where he worked for six years doing a classical morning show in the 1980s.
Today, jazz lovers can catch Talaga's act at Bistro Bellavita and The Kopper Top, two Grand Rapids establishments at which he plays regularly.


A jazz educator, composer and pianist, Talaga plays with two performance groups, Mind's Eye Quartet and the An adjunct professor of music at Aquinas and Hope colleges, University, as well as a bachelor's degree in broadcast and cinematic arts from CMU.
