TORONTO (CP) - The White Stripes are planning an extensive Canadian tour that will take them to all 10 provinces, the Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories. "Having never done a full tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog," front man Jack White said Thursday in a release. "We want to take this tour to the far reaches of the Canadian landscape.
From the ocean to the permafrost." The 18-date tour begins June 24 in Burnaby, B.C.
and will include stops in Whitehorse, Yellowknife and Iqaluit. White says the band will spend its 10th anniversary in Glace Bay, N.S.
, on July 14. Their new album, "Icky Thump," is due June 19.
