This morning at 12:01 a.m., The White Stripes' new single "Icky Thump" went on sale exclusively via the iTunes Music Store, after debuting at radio late yesterday.

Jack Meg decided to use the occasion to announce the initial dates for their 2007 tour.
The trek will take the band through Canada before hitting the United States. The Stripes plan to perform in the 16 states that they've never played in during their decade-long career.

In a statement, Jack White said, "Having never done a full tour of Canada, Meg and I thought it was high time to go whole hog. We want to take this tour to the far reaches of the Canadian landscape. From the ocean to the permafrost.

The best way for us to do that is ensure that we perform in every province and territory in the country, from the Yukon to Prince Edward Island.
