Hickinbottom fled from a prison van as it neared Blakenhurst Prison on Wednesday (September 27) in a dramatic incident in which two armed and masked accomplices held up the van, travelling with Hickinbottom from Redditch Magistrates Court.
DCI Kevin Purcell, leading the hunt, has issued a stark warning to Hickinbottom that he will be found by police.
"We will continue with our enquiries and will not stop until we have put this man back where he belongs, behind bars.
"It is not a question of if we find him, but when," he added.
"This is a very unusual incident, particularly within West Mercia which is a low crime area, but it is clear there was a degree of planning in this armed raid.
"What we need to do now is to get this man back in custody.
"
Police are continuing with their detailed forensic examination a car - a silver Audi A3 1.6 SE - recovered in Blue Rock Place, Oldbury in the West Midlands on Wednesday evening and are conducting further detailed enquiries in order to trace those involved.
The car was stolen from an address in the Sutton Coldfield area in the late afternoon of Monday (September 25) and police have appealed to anyone who believes they may have seen the vehicle since to contact them.
Police are also keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have seen the car being dumped in the Oldbury area and may have information about the occupants.
Hickinbottom has been described as dangerous and police are urging members of the public who may have seen him to call 999 immediately. He should not be approached under any circumstances.
