Fra Sands is from Newry, County Down in Northern Ireland. Fra joined the Hope team as an intern in late 2005 and has since been emerging into the leadership of Hope. He is 24 years old , works as an electrician, and is single (ladies, contact us for more info).
He attended Bible school at Into His Harvest training school in Regina, SK, Canada for two years before returning to Ireland in 2005.
He is a talented musician who has written some of the worship songs that we use in our gatherings. His music styles have been influenced by Matt Redman, Damien Rice, and Brian Houston.
He serves as our worship leader and will this month be teaching a series on character at our weekly gatherings.
Sadly, he is addicted to tea, likes chick flicks, and The OC. However, among his other redeeming qualities, he is our resident jokester, loves spuds, and dreams of opening a musical instrument store in Roscommon with a small recording studio.
Some of his favorite bands include Snow Patrol and Dashboard Confessional (and any artist who is passionate about their music). He has recently read such books as Seizing Your Divine Moment by Erwin Raphael McManus and Searching for God Knows What by Donald Miller.
We love having Fra in our lives and as a part of our church and leadership team.
He has a genuine love for God, values his friendships, and shows great care for the people who are in his life. And he's got a great accent!
