New York, NY (AHN) - Paul McCartney's "Memory Almost Full," his 21st solo album and first since his 2005 album "Chaos And Creation In The Backyard," will be released June 5.
According to McCartney's website, he actually started "Memory Almost Full" before his "Chaos And Creation" album, with the first recording session being in the fall of 2003. After receiving a Grammy nomination for "Chaos And Creation," McCartney returned to the "Memory" project and began revising what he had already recorded.
"In places, it's a very personal record," he writes on his site, "and a lot of it is retrospective, drawing from memory, like memories from being a kid, from Liverpool, and from summers gone. The album is evocative, emotional, rocking, but I can't really sum it up in one sentence."
McCartney also wrote that, "It's Like Me With Penny Lane' and 'Eleanor Rigby,'" adding that people are going to interpret the songs in different ways.
"The thing is that I love writing songs, so I just write and write," he said.
"Memory Almost Full" is also McCartney's first with Starbuck's record label, Hear Music.
