While Britney Spears continues her mini-comeback tour/public striptease, her family is speaking out. The singer's aunt, Chandra McGovern, has gone public with details of Spears's estrangement from her relatives.
"The family felt very disappointed in the way she was acting," McGovern said of her niece's recent antics in an interview with Inside Edition on May 3.
Discussing Spears's pre-rehab head shaving spectacle, McGovern explained, "[It] was a rebellion against everybody. She was saying 'I'm not the pop princess you think I am, now leave me alone.'"
Despite the chilly relations between the singer and her family, Spears's aunt predicts an imminent reconciliation, saying, "If there is a family feud it won't last long.
She and her mom are close."
Meanwhile, the Britster continued to underwhelm fans during her 11-minute show at Los Angeles's House of Blues yesterday. Lindsay Lohan showed up to lend her skanky support, no doubt leaving the performance in awe and wondering if she, too, will ever gain the stamina to work 11 minutes straight.
