Yeah, it's going to weekend now, this week my band of the week will be KISS. I'm not talking how you kiss your love one ok? It's a classic rock band called KISS.



I remember many year back when our country banning all black metal songs, I read an article someone wrote that KISS is a satanic black metal band, I was don't know suppose to laugh or angry, how come someone never heard about KISS songs and just look at their makeup then judged KISS is a satanic black metal band? That's a really idiot comments I ever seen in my life.

Let's start my selection with God Gave Rock N' Roll To You, this song really suit me that god is giving me Rock N' Roll musics to cheer up my life.

Next will be Detroit The Rock City, it's a theme song from the movie same as the song title. Followed will be the most sentimental tune, Beth, it's a beautiful nice song. Lastly is my favorite when I was a kid, I Was Made For Loving You, I really like it.

Sorry for lack of update about Band Of The Week in this few weeks due to my lousy internet service. This weekend my band of the week is The Kinks.

Let's start up with some of my song selection from The Kinks.

First will be my favorite, You Really Got Me. I think most of you heard of this song before. Next will be Waterloo Sunset, a very relaxing song.

Follow by Lola, quite funny tune to me. Finally will be Victoria, a quite famous tune too.

About The Kinks

The Kinks were an English rock group formed in 1963 by lead singer-songwriter Ray Davies and his brother, lead guitarist and vocalist, Dave Davies.

The band's early hard-driving singles set a standard in the mid-1960s for Rock Roll.


In the United States, The Kinks are categorised as a British Invasion band, along with the other members of the so-called Big Four (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Who). Despite being less commercially successful than these three contemporaries, the band is frequently cited as one of the most important and influential rock bands of all time.




In the autumn of 2005, The Kinks were inducted into the "UK Music Hall of Fame", where all of the original band members were present again (indeed, they are now the only major British Invasion band whose original members are all still alive). The award was given by long-time Kinks fan and friend of Ray, The Who's guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend, who expressed his wishes to see The Kinks reunited in 2006.

According to Ray Davies in an interview for Rolling Stone that the band may reform for another album.

According to him, he recently got together with former bandmates, including Dave, to discuss potential future plans.

As I promised, this weekend I gonna intro you all my pick on classic rock band.

Now I have to work on Saturday but it doesn't change me to post it on Friday.

Alright, this weekend my band of the week goes to ZZ Top. Let's listen to some of their favorite tunes.

First will be 'Bad To The Bone'. Next will be my all time favorite 'La Grange', this song also played in G3 live in concert 2005. Another powerful tune is 'Tush', this song really cheer me up.

Lastly is 'Legs', this song used to be the theme song for Stacy Keibler who got a pair of sexy long legs in WWE.

Going to weekend again, time really flies and I just realized today is FLY-day! Alright, as I promised this weekend I gonna introduce another classic rock band that I listening to.

This weekend my selection will be the legendary of The Allman Brothers Band.

About The Allman Brothers Band

The Allman Brothers Band is a band from Macon, Georgia. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame labeled this band as "The principal architect of Southern Rock".

This band was formed in 1969 and described as "the best damn rock and roll band in this country has produced in past five years" by Rolling Stone's George Kimball.

The band has been awarded eleven Gold and five Platinum albums between 1971 and 2005. Rolling Stone magazine listen The Allman Brothers Band as one their 100 Greatest Artist of All Time in 2004.

History

The band was formed in Jacksonville, Florida on March 26, 1969. The band members were Duane Allman (slide guitar lead guitar), Gregg Allman (vocal, organ), Dickey Betts (lead guitars, vocal), Berry Oakley (bass guitar), Butch Trucks (drums) and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums). Duane and Gregg had originally been in a garage band called The Escorts.

Duane Allman killed in a motorcycle accidents on October 29, 1971 in Macon, Georgia when he collided with a lumber truck. Dickey Betts filled Duane's former role in completing the last album he participated. After some concerts the band added Chuck Leavell (pianist) to gain another lead instrument but without directly replacing Duane.



Berry Oakley died in another motorcycle accident on November 11, 1972 only three blocks away from the site of Duane Allman's fatal accident. Oakley was replaced by Lamar Williams at the end of 1972.

Personality conflicts started to tear the band apart during late 70's and 80's when Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts both began their solo album.

In 1989 The Allman Brothers reunited and returned to popular consciousness of the American public until present day.

Alright, as I promised this 'Band Of The Week' will back after the bloggers gathering.

Back to my business, this weekend I want to introduce you all my most favorite rock band - Dream Theater.

Let's start with my favorite songs selection. Hollow Years (Live at Budokan) is one of my most favorite song, the guitar solo by John Petrucci really killer!

Next also another live version, The Spirit Carries On (20th Anniversary World Tour), the guitar solo...

again will make you cry too. Following will be the heavy one, As I Am..

. this song really powerful!!

! One of their most favorite song is Metropolis, that's another one of their finest music work. Lastly will be Another Day, another slow version from this band.



Actually I prefer even more in heavy version, but I afraid you all can't take it, so I just posted the slow version.

About Dream Theater

Dream Theater is a progressive metal band formed by Mike Portnoy (drums), John Petrucci (guitars) and John Myung (bass guitars). Three of them were from Berklee College of Music in United State.

The current line up of this band together with Jordan Rudess (keyboards) and Kevin James LaBrie (singer).

Dream Theater also is a well known for the technical proficiency of each instrumental, they also won many awards from music magazines.

History

Dream Theater was formed in 1985 and named as Majesty.

Somehow in 1986 they were forced to change their name when another band named Majesty threatening legal action. Therefor, Portnoy's father suggested named as Dream Theater, the name of a now demolished theater in Monterey, California.

John Petrucci

He is one of the most finest guitar palyer I ever seen, I really admire his skills.

Now he also join with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai for the G3 tour. Petrucci also notable as one of the musicians to popularize the usage of seven strings guitar (alongside Steve Vai, Suicidal Tendencies guitarist Rocky George and the nu metal band Korn).

Mike Portnoy

Portnoy has won 22 awards from the Modern Drummer Magazine.

He was the youngest (at 37 years of age) to be inducted into the Modern Drummer magazine's Rock Drummer Hall of Fame. He is one of my favorite rock drummers, I really enjoy to see he plays on drums.

John Myung

Myung has somewhat become the mystery member of Dream Theater.

He really rarely speak and draw attention to himself in concerts. He is very quiet and very committed into his career. I've met Myung in personal in 2005 when he came to Malaysia.

I was so excited to meet him in his bass clinic and get his autograph, and...

I did it! I got his autograph on a post card and one of my Dream Theater's CD cover.
