It was all in good fun kicking around the name for our little Wiki Stump until we actually Googled it, and lo: it turns out Scarface really owned and operated his , a banjo that haunts Alcatraz to this very day (they don't tell you this story on the audio tour):
Strangely, although the ghost of Al Capone has never been rumored to haunt, a ghost researcher who was gathering evidence about the haunting of Alcatraz, spoke to a National Park Ranger (the prison is now a National Park site) about something strange that happened in one of the cells. The ranger had no idea who had once been housed there, but he was sure that he had heard spectral banjo music coming from inside of the chamber..So, if you want to know why a plurality of you for the game's name, you have only a park ranger gone mad with loneliness to blame. Here are the clues for , as won by "kevin":...
The cell had once belonged to Al Capone.
- Beavis and Butt-head
- Bo Diddley
- Colorado Springs, Colorado
- Cello
- David Fincher
- Disc jockey
- Kurt Cobain
"umm i remembered that beavis and butthead with , and with the cello it made me think of the song from armageddon, i thought i had it, so i looked," he said, in the comments.)
So for round three we present a double-ACB, as part of our relentless struggle to have one of these unsolved long enough to eat a smallish bag of chips. Also, we're shortening it to 6, to see if that makes it any harder.
(Game play explained in case you still have no idea what the fuck we're talking about.) To win this round, you have to guess both bands..
.
- Hardcore punk
- Alternative rock
- List of Steve Albini's recording projects
- Mike Patton
- Talk:Experimental music
- Noise rock
Run a link to the answer through and post it in the comments. Eventually we will start giving out prizes (or lolcats) to the winners. Posted by: at April 27, 2007 1:56 PM God, what a time-waster, wow.

Posted by: Spencer at April 27, 2007 2:32 PM I found a page that shows all connections of as many degrees as you want to faith no more and any other artist.
or simply go to and query for faith no more!
Posted by: at April 27, 2007 2:44 PM Nice RC! Hope this one was harder than last time. If anyone has any suggestions .

Posted by: at April 27, 2007 3:08 PM rc, how'd you do it?
Posted by: at April 27, 2007 4:11 PM Just go to the lists/talk portions, then scan thru until you see a name that seems "Stereogummy," then clickthru and check it out. Lame, I know, but yeah.
The first one I just looked at the list of percussionists and Rahzel was my first pick, and turned out to be it. The second one was a bit harder, but looking at the Talk:Experimental page, there were ony but a few names listed there.
In order to make it harder, I suggest you start using artists that aren't so easily picked out of lists as "Stereogum/Stereogum-fan"-relevant.
Merzbow, Diamanda Galas, Nina Nastasia...
. those would've been a little less likely choices.
I mean, when you look at a list of a billion names, if there's only one "Sufjan" listed, it's pretty easy to guess the name that SG would've picked out.
Posted by: RC at April 27, 2007 4:49 PM Damn, RC...
you cheated. Bing!
Posted by: at April 27, 2007 6:02 PM ok, would 'no more talk/list pages' make it better?
