Post #150: New My Chemical Romance Singles The Blanathema

My Chemical Romance, the band with whom I am currently a tad obsessed with, are releasing their latest single to follow Famous Last Words a week on Monday (2nd April). The track that has been chosen for the third UK single is I Don t Love You. It seems for this time round the band have gone for a slightly more ballad-sounding song.

By that, I mean it s not got the sheer screaming energy of Famous Last Words or Welcome To The Black Parade.
Anyway, it is not this which I am looking forward to; as good a song as it is. No, what I m really, really, REALLY looking forward to is what is rumored to be their next single.

The band did a video shoot out in California on March the 17th and they asked for fans to volunteer to star in the video. It has been strongly rumored, and almost confirmed by the band in various interviews, that Teenagers was the single for which they recorded a video. Yes, that s right, Teenagers - my all time favourite track off The Black Parade .

I ve got one friend who has been driving me insane by constantly telling me how the new album is absolute rubbish. I m fine with people feeling this way, so long as they ve actually heard the whole of the album. He s basing his assumptions of Welcome To The Black Parade and I Don t Love You; the only two songs that he s heard from last year s album.

I really do hope that Teenagers will make him realize that The Black Parade is as good as and if not better than Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge .
Apparently (and this is all rumors, might I add), the band will release Teenagers as the third single over in the US and the follow it with the UK s third: I Don t Love You. This is kind of like what Muse did when they released Knights of Cydonia as the first single in the US then brought it to us European fans a bit later on, after Supermassive Black Hole and Starlight.

The new single is fairly radio-friendly, with an ultra-addictive beat and some fantastic lyrics it s one of the poppiest songs that the band have done to date. On the other hand, it does have the following line repeated more than a few times in each chorus: I said all teenagers scare, the living shit out of me!” Rumor has it that the word shit is to be replaced by either heck or freak .

Not quite sure how that will sound but it must be better than how the radio-edit of This Ain t A Scene, It s An Arms Race ended up; there were gaps every few seconds.
Anyway, as it seems there s going to be quite a few months before Teenagers is released in the UK, we ll have to be satisfied with the not-quite-as-brilliant-but-still-very-amazing single release of I Don t Love You. I must say, though, that my biggest regret of the whole thing has to be that I desperately wanted a double release of The End/Dead!

as their final UK single. Still, there s always that minute chance that they ll release five singles from The Black Parade .
Meanwhile, I m still trying to tame the massive increase in my devotion to them that was brought on by such an incredible gig on Saturday evening.

I ve listened to all three of their albums at least 20 times since getting home that night. Finally, this is my 150th post on the Blanathema, which is much further than I ever imagined getting. I reckon it s been a real successful venture for me and have no intention of stopping in the very near future.

For the time being, here s the video of I Don t Love You, released on April the 2nd.
B.
im so excited for this next video.

. but im trying not to get my hopes too high, just in case it isnt as brilliant as my imagination makes it out to be!!

im glad they re doing a highschool thing, hoping there s lots of bob in this clip because they tend not to focus much on him [and he is like Sooo pretty, lol, im sucha teenie right now]
anyway.. only like 2 more days left to wait.

. thats what ive been told anyway!!

*excitement*
and i agree they should put out The end/dead!
Aww its great they delayed it because of the Viginia tech thing..

i just hope that people dont think the band released the song because of the shootings.. and i hope they dont say they tryed to make money off of a horible event because.

. well..

they didnt!!
The tragedy just makes the song even more relevant!

!
lol..

i cant help adding mcr song quotes in
Dead! is an awesome song to dance too..

when nobodys watchin
Hahaha me, my mirror and my ipod have had some good times with that song.
It s May 6th (just saw them at Bamboozle!!

! AMAZING!!

!) And they STILL have not released it. But probably because of the VT tragedy or the Salmonilla poisoning (yes it has been confirmed by Gee as Salmonilla) But your right, it does make it more relevent and in a recent interview Gee said, We are going to start to get involved with anti-teen-violence campaigns and charities because of Teenagers and the Virgina Tech Massacre.
