Henry Rollins brings some grunt to the chat show, writes George Palathingal.
  I try and ask questions that I  m not seeing other people ask   HENRY ROLLINS has been known for many things over the years.</p><p> He heroes Black Flag and his own Rollins Band. He has published numerous volumes of his and others' counter-culture writing, often funded via a sideline as a competent character actor. He has gained a formidable reputation as a raconteur, with hundreds of spoken-word shows under his belt.</p><p><br/> The Henry Rollins Show is the very reason he's in town.
"But that's what hopefully makes the show interesting. Since you are working in such a tried and true medium, what could we possibly do to make it different?

What would be different than any other damn talk show? Well, me, so I'd better bring all my discontent at what I see in other talk shows in and go, 'OK, let's shows Rove McManus so blatantly tries to emulate, hosted by the likes of David Letterman, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien.

"No," Rollins says, laughing at the thought. "There are certain guests who are very easy to get. Like Ozzy Osbourne.

I've known Ozzy for many years - that was one phone call, no problem. Chuck D, one phone call. Jeff Bridges, one phone call - I've done a movie with him, we get along.

Musical guests aren't as hard to get as film guests. Artists Sleater-Kinney; one of hip-hop's best live acts, Jurassic 5; and the legendary Pixies frontman Frank Black. "We've been lucky so far," Rollins says.

"We'll see how long that lasts."
