While a London, England judge that Pete Doherty has been making great strides in trying to overcome his drug habit, no-one else should be surprised that he was busted again on the weekend.
The Babyshambles singer was driving in the British capital on Saturday night when he was stopped by police. After a search, the cops allegedly found crack cocaine and cannabis.
Doperty was arrested for possession of Class A drugs, taken to a local jailhouse and then released on bail. He'll have to return next month.
Kate Moss' main squeeze is under probation from past arrests and has been undergoing drug testing as part of his sentence.
He's still hoping to pass his first one.
You'd think that this latest arrest would finally put Doperty behind bars for at least as long as Paris Hilton got for driving with a suspended license. But he always seems to get slapped on the wrist instead, and it's no longer a shock when he gets off easy.
The 28 year old just completed a solo album, is working towards making another Babyshambles record, reunited with former Libertines partner Carl Barat for a performance, and has been talking marriage and babies with Moss. But, damn, that crack and smack seem to have a stronger allure than a potentially lucrative music career and a supermodel wife.
