Leonardo DiCaprio is being hailed as a real-life hero after saving a co-star from a gunman.
The 'Titanic' actor bravely stepped in between the armed attacker and actor Djimon Hounsou while they were filming new movie 'Blood Diamond' in Mozambique.
Hounsou said: "He stood in the way of somebody who was trying to shoot me.
We went to eat somewhere and apparently somebody was threatening to kill me there.
"Leo said, 'Well, you're gonna have to go through me.'"
DiCaprio's courageous intervention startled the gunman who quickly fled from the scene.
Hounsou is still unsure as to why he was targeted, but insists he will forever be indebted to his co-star.
Meanwhile, DiCaprio has also displayed his generous-nature by pledging to financially support a South African orphanage after becoming attached to a little girl being brought up there.
He said: "She was a young girl on set.
I just became attached to this kid.
"It was a great feeling to walk into this orphanage and see what happens when people contribute money and time to helping children who have lost everything."

Rosie Rips Kelly for "Homophobic" Remark.
Rosie O'Donnell started a bitchfight with fellow morning-diva Kelly Ripa when she accused Ripa of making a "homophobic" remark. The fracas started on "The View" when O'Donnell said that Ripa was "homophobic" for her scolding of Aiken when he co-hosted her show the other day and playfully put his hand over her mouth, prompting Ripa to snap, "I don't know where that hand has been." Rosie suggested that if Aiken had been a "straight guy, a cute guy" or, for instance, Mario Lopez, Ripa wouldn't have made the same remark.
(Aiken, of course, has never acknowledged that he's gay.)
Ripa was incensed enough to call into the show immediately, firing away that Rosie's accusation was "outrageous" and "irresponsible" and that Ripa made the remark last Friday because it was "cold and flu season" and that Aiken had shaken the hands of the studio audience. Rosie wasn't buying it, and in acknowledging that she admires Ripa, said that "from where I sit" as an openly gay woman, Ripa's response was homophobic.
Kelly, for her part, continued to pile on Aiken as well, saying that his behavior on last week's episode was "disrespectful," including the fact that he never thanked her for the opportunity to co-host.

After getting the boot from Britney Spears, Kevin Federline has become totally broke, and he may reportedly go to any extent to extract as much money as he can. Kevin is reportedly considering penning a tell-all book about life with 24-year-old Britney, in which he plans to expose a side of her, fans have never before seen. The aspiring rapper has been with Britney for two years and knows things she probably doesn't want to go public.
The details would probably get huge media play, and Kevin knows it, reports National Enquirer.
He aims to paint a lurid picture of Britney's visits to gay bars and her physical encounters with other women..
.discuss her reported use of cocaine and marijuana..
.her plastic surgery and embarrassing physical problems, reports TMZ. He criticized the very things Britney was most insecure about - her weight, acne, and hair according to the source.
He also filed for the custody of the couple's two children to just extort money from Spears.
Thanks to Britney's air-tight prenup, K-Fed will only get less than 250,000 dollars and around 2.5 million dollars (his share of the Malibu house).
So he has threatened that there are things the judge may want to know about her past that could bear on her mothering skills, but he may go away for a price.
A source close to Britney reveals that Kevin lavishly spent her money, which usually triggered fights. He blew about 7,000 dollars a month on shoes, hats, and clothing.
And when in Las Vegas, he would lose a minimum of 50,000 dollars at the craps table.
Richie Fires Stylist Rachel Zoe. Nicole Richie is cleaning out her closet.
Us has learned that, on November 14, the Simple Life star axed her personal stylist (and close confidante) of more than two years, Rachel Zoe. The reason? The size-0 Richie, 25, “wanted to surround herself with positive people and influences,” an insider says.
Apparently that didn’t include the controversial fashionista, 35, who has long been accused of promoting unhealthy body images (her roster of stick-thin clients includes Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan, both 20).
“Nicole didn’t trust Rachel anymore,” a Richie pal says of the firing. “Zoe didn’t take the news well.
”
Zoe’s rep denies this, adding that the split was amicable.
In her place, Richie has hired Cristina Ehrlich – who has dressed Jessica Biel and Penelope Cruz – to pick an outfit for the November 21 American Music Awards, where the actress has been asked to introduce a performance by dad Lionel Richie.
After a false start, Jessica Simpson and John Mayer are giving dating a try again.
The couple met up for an hour-long lunch at Paradise Cove Beach Café in Malibu, California, on November 12. “She didn’t eat much,” a witness says. “She drank double vodka cranberries.
When they got up, Jessica was rubbing his back. You could definitely tell they were on a date.” Mayer left a $40 tip on the $100 bill.
Is it for real this time? Even Simpson, 26, and Mayer, 29, aren’t sure yet.“She’s taking her time with it,” a Simpson pal says.
Adds a Mayer source, “It’s a flirtation. I wouldn’t call it full-on dating, but there is a fondness. He doesn’t like the attention, but he likes her.
He wants to avoid the public scrutiny of last time.” The partying heiress was performing in Las Vegas, when she “puked” on stage, according to crooner Joshua Radin. Radin was visiting Vegas with the cast of “Scrubs” and went to a nightclub to hear Jay-Z perform.
“Paris Hilton …was sitting next to me the whole night. Seriously, next to me, like our legs were touching for a good 5 hours,” Radin wrote on his MySpace site. “Now don’t get the wrong idea.
She never once said hello, nor even looked in my direction. Five hours. And it was unreal to watch.
She must have pulled a compact out of her bag every 6 minutes to stare at herself and pose while Jay-Z was performing 18 inches from us.”
When Jay-Z left the stage, according to Radin, it was Hilton’s moment. “Paris, who had been swilling straight vodka from [a] Grey Goose bottle for hours, gets up on stage, has the people in charge throw her ‘record’ on the house stereo for her to lip sync two of her songs,” writes Radin.
“She gets up on the stage, pukes, leaves. . .
I find the music business charming.”

Just hours after online video surfaced of his racist tirade at a comedy club, former Seinfeld star Michael Richards appeared on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman Monday night to apologize. "I lost my temper on stage.
I was trying to do my act and I got heckled. I took it badly and went into a rage and said some really nasty things to some Afro-Americans," Richards tells Letterman via satellite. (view the clip here.
) "I'm really busted up over this. I'm really, really sorry.
"I'm concerned about the anger coming through.
I'm deeply, deeply sorry. I'm not a racist, that's what so insane about this..
.. I just have to do personal work.
I'm still reeling from this." Richards, best known as Kramer from the hit series, hurled racial epithets at black audience members who apparently heckled him during a standup show in L.A.
on Friday night.
TMZ posted a video of the incident on Monday ( ). It shows Richards, 57, taunting the men for interrupting his show.
"Shut up! Fifty years ago we'd have you upside down with a f–ing fork up your a–," he yells.
He paces the stage, then continues: "You can talk, you can talk, you can talk, you're brave now mother–.
Throw his a– out. He's a n–!" Richards then screams the n-word four more times while pointing to the hecklers in the balcony, drawing uncomfortable murmurs from the crowd.
The two sides continue to trade insults, and then Richards eventually leaves the stage for good.
"I went back onstage that night and I apologized to quite a few people," Richards tells Letterman. "I didn't get to talk to everyone.
They left. And they went to the press as they should have." The incident took place at The Laugh Factory, a comedy club in West Hollywood.
Jerry Seinfeld was already scheduled to appear on Letterman's show, and tells Letterman about the incident with his friend and former costar, "I did talk to him today I was extremely upset about it and he's extremely upset about it so I invited him on the show. He's mystified about what happened." The Laugh Factory has banned Richards and promised to post a warning to all comedians to avoid offensive language.
