Jessica Alba forgave Playboy magazine on Tuesday for making her an unwitting cover girl after founder Hugh Hefner sent the actress a personal apology and pledged to donate money to her favorite charities. "In light of Mr. Hefner's personal apology for Playboy's unauthorized use of my photo on their cover, I have decided to discontinue my claims against them," Alba, 24, said in a written statement.
"This was never about money, it was about setting the record straight about something that was done without my knowledge or consent," she added. Kate Beckinsale has reportedly joined the race to play Wonder Woman in Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon's upcoming comic book movie. The British actress is in negotiations with Whedon, according to movie gossip website joblo.

The star of "Laguna Beach" has signed on for her first movie, an indie psychological thriller called "Fingerprints."
The news surfaced Monday (April 3) in Variety, but at Saturday's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards (see "Will Smith Issues A Warning, Timberlake Thanks His Butt At Kids' Choice Awards"), Cavallari hinted there would be an announcement soon. "Fingerprints" will co-star Brittany Snow ("The Pacifier," "American Dreams"), who is coming off a dark role on "Nip/Tuck." Snow will play a Southern girl who moves back in with her family after leaving rehab. Her and her sister, played by Cavallari, then get involved in an investigation into the strange paralysis of several residents.
Up-and-coming horror helmer Harry Basil is directing the movie, which is loosely based on an urban legend about haunted train tracks. Shooting will start in mid-April in Oklahoma.
Cavallari, who told MTV News last fall she was taking acting lessons, recently shot a guest appearance on "Veronica Mars.
