PINT-SIZED pop-rocker Lil' Chris took over lessons with pupils at a Swindon school.
The mini star was visiting Churchfields on the latest stage of his schools tour, on the back of his performance at the Oasis centre.
Sixteen-year-old Chris Hardman has been supporting McFly around the country, popping into schools on his way to set teenagers' hearts beating.
Year 7 pupils, alongside GCSE music classes, filled the lower school hall yesterday morning to see him perform two of his hit singles, Checkin' It Out and Figure It Out.
The teenager then took questions from pupils, when he was asked about a range of things, from his Channel 4 TV experience through to if he would like a girlfriend.
Chris rose to fame when he appeared on Channel 4's reality TV show Rock School, which took a group of pupils from a school in Lowestoft and transformed them into a rock band to perform in America as a support act to heavy metal act Judas Priest.
Since then he has been snapped up by a record company, has released three singles and an album, and has dates being announced in the summer for his own headline tour.
The pupils' good behaviour made for a quiet crowd for Chris, who is more used to the screaming fans seen at McFly gigs.
"The performance was a good laugh, good fun.
We've done a lot of schools now," he said.
"I don't think the pupils were allowed to get up or make noise so they were very confined.
"We do usually get some nutters, especially at the girls' schools.
"Being on tour with McFly has been really good, none of the dates have not been good - it has been amazing.
"It's a laugh. They are really cool guys, down to earth.
"McFly have the same audience we would have so it's an instant click and it's the perfect tour for us to be on."
Among the fans in the audience were Year 11 girls Kirsty Bridgeman and Rosie Boyd, and Year 10 Abi Ashby.
The young music pupils said the performance inspired them by showing what is possible in the music industry at a young age.
Abi said: "It was a really good experience for us. We normally get acts here but none have been as big as Lil' Chris.
"Because the Year 11 and Year 10 GCSE music groups were here it gave us an idea of what we can achieve with a bit more effort.
