This Sunday, communities nationwide will be tag of Herceptin. Auckland, Wellington, Nelson and Christchurch, link arms and women with early HER2 + breast cancer. All funds raised in will be leading New Zealand fashion designer Liz Mitchell, a businesswoman, registered nurse and mother of two Jacqueline Harrison.

Ms Harrison is determined to reduce the stress on cancer. #x2018;It is too much to expect women coping with the debilitating effects of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments to organise fundraising as well, #x2019; Life #x2019;s initiative. #x2018;It is fantastic to see Jacqueline way, #x2019; said Ms Burgess.

#x2018;Skip for Life is another Life events will begin at 10am, Sunday April 22 in the - The Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union is considering launching legal action to stop APN from outsourcing its subediting - a decision confirmed today by the media giant. The EPMU believes APN has failed to properly consult the union and its members over its decision to centralise and outsource its subediting operations to Australian-owned contractor Pagemasters. .. - The head of an international organisation researching learning disabilities has welcomed the Government’s announcement yesterday that it recognised dyslexia as a significant barrier to learning.

International Academy for Research in Learning Disabilities president, Professor James Chapman says the change is overdue and will give a boost to New Zealand’s credibility in future research. See..

. - Simon Ingram, from the Elam School of Fine Arts Doctoral programme at the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries (NICAI), has been awarded a University of Auckland Best Doctoral Thesis. His thesis, Painting As Machine, is an inquiry into the conversation between art and contemporary technology.

.. It includes machines made from Lego robotics and generic constructional materials to paint autonomously in oil paint with a brush, and paintings that use cellular automata as a method to govern their decision making process.

The institute features five major research initiatives, including the establishment of a Pacific Media Centre, which has several projects under way. See.

Two groups, Crosspower and TYLA applied for funding to the committee. I strongly support both groups in the community. Crosspower did not receive funding on the basis it was already funded by Government.

.. - Today in Wellington's Manners Mall, Oxfam New Zealand staged an uneven tug of war to symbolise unequal trade deals being imposed on Pacific nations.

A small crowd gathered a three-strong Pacific team battled six EU 'negotiators' over trade goods. As expected, the Pacfic squad had to be satisfied with a moral victory. Prior to the event Oxfam Executive Director Barry Coates met with EU and German officials to express Oxfam's concerns.
