This year's Ottawa Bluesfest will feature a new, airier location and a slew of big name acts, including Bob Dylan, The White Stripes, Kanye West, Alexisonfire, Blue Rodeo and Cat Power.
Bluesfest will move from its crowded City Hall location to a more spacious venue at Lebreton Flats, where the festival was held until 2001. The move will increase capacity from 20,000 to 30,000.
The event will run from July 5 to 15 and showcase 147 acts on five stages.
Festival organizers were intent on Dylan playing Bluesfest, even adding the July 5 date so that the legendary singer/songwriter could fit it into his schedule. The Steve Miller Band, Geroge Clinton And The P-Funk All-Stars, Sam Roberts Band, Randy Newman, Final Fantasy, Built To Spill, Sarah Harmer and INXS are also part of the eclectic lineup.
The bill features 25 Ottawa acts, including Jim Bryson and Souljazz Orchestra.
