has sent me a very distressing news piece from Reuters. It seems the Moroccan authorities 14 heavy metal fans for "Satanism".
The 14 men aged between 22 and 35 years were found guilty of "possessing objects which infringe morals" and of "acts capable of undermining the faith of a Muslim.


Yet another example of what a "caring sharing" religion Islam is. These bigots jailed the young men for one month to one merely for liking heavy metal.

Despite the headline (obviously written by someone who hasn't read the damn article) most of those jailed were musicians in three Moroccan based bands.
Of course, one can not be too critical of these Islamist fools, since you know damn well that Falwell Robertson probably admire Moroccan authorities for what they have done. No doubt Tipper Gore (ex-drug addict/PMRC) and her hubby will be pleased too.


I wonder if Amnesty will take up the cause of these metal-heads? Somehow I doubt it. You have to admit it would make for a great advert campaign.

A bunch of long hairs headbanging and raising a glass of beer to say: "in Morroco you can be jailed for this."

Of course Morocco sucks, anybody had doubts? It's an islamic dictatorship and also a drugs gateway. What Spain should do is to build a Great Spanish Wall like China, to get rid of drugs and the invasion of illegal immigrants, some of which participate in terrorist actions in Europe.

I'm a Moroccan and live in Morocco, and though it may not be Heavy Metal Paradise (not that I can think of any other small country based on a religion that is), it is not what you have made it out to be. First of all, this was the only absurd case that has ever taken place in Morocco and they had been RELEASED almost immediately. Also, it is one of the most advanced African countries and most tolerate ones and it does NOT run on conservative fanatiscm.

You all have to get your info straight, especially considering the fact that this is the country that Led Zeppelin have so romantacized. Come to Marrakesh and see for yourselves, you culturally deprive MORONS.

i am half morrocain and i am a muslim (islam) and i love this religion.

Yes i have been to morocco i go there every year somethings i like about it some things i dont but the most wonderful place is marakesh. thats the only reason i go (oh and to see my family) so all of u haters p**s off because morocco is 1 of the most famous countries in the whole entire world so if u dont like morocco i suggest u go to marrakesh and if u still dont like it go back next year and the year after (trust me i started to like it after 5 years)

i was friend with those musicians i am moroccan and those guys were great skilled artists n musicians ! you guys are big mouths really !

u know nothing about islam nothin about morocco and nothin about moroccans ! let alone music ! anyway that was 5 years ago things now have changed :) those musicians r doing great work now com and see th positiv stuff they r doing :) and welcome to morocco anytime we offer free couscous all days long
That's just one incident; I don't think you can say "Morocco sucks" based on that.
