Kristin Schwartz, senior class vice president at Rock Canyon High School in Highlands Ranch, has taken Advanced Placement classes while maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average. She has lettered four times in sports, for cross country and track, and three times in academics.
Kristin was the 2006 captain of the Rock Canyon girls varsity tennis team and also received the Most Valuable Player award. She served in student government her junior year. Last summer, Kristin represented Rock Canyon at the Colorado High School Activities Association State Leadership Conference at Colorado State University and became a member of the vocal leadership council after being inducted into the National Tri-M Music Honor Society.
She has volunteered at Sky Ridge Medical Center for the past two summers. Kristin plans to pursue engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the fall. Each week, The Denver Post honors an outstanding youth for his or her accomplishments.
