Marion Raven's latest single 'Break You' is pretty horrendous. Created using a weird blend of Americanised rock and pop that she calls 'Marion Raven Rock', the Norwegian singer, who recently duetted with Meatloaf on a re-energised version of 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now', appears to have taken musical styles from all over and pummelled them into one track. It's like a weaker version of something Christina Aguilera and Hilary Duff might have come up with if pushed to work together, and that's not meant as a compliment.
Marion Raven has got a great voice, but 'Break You' lets her down big time. It's a weak song, it's unlikely it'll be a breakthrough track for her, which is unfortunate, as given the right song and look, there's no doubt Raven could mightily impress the general public with her vocal range, model looks and clearly copious talent, but 'Break You' is not the song to do that.
