When Jeff Stafford donated seven boxes of 16mm film full of nothing but old movie trailers to the International Film Series in Boulder, IFS director Pablo Kjolseth saw more than just an opportunity; he saw a whole lot of old trailers. "Some of the trailers were just so godawful in a truly godawful kind of way," he recalls. "Others were godawful in a really funny way.

So we put together a kind of Best Of smattering of our favorites." Thus was born Trailerfest, IFS's tribute to trailers weird and wonderful, from 1970s blaxploitation flicks like Darktown Strutters to what Kjolseth calls "bizarre Italian shlock" like Lady Frankenstein.
