Linkin Park
Linkin Park's new single, "What I've Done," has proved to be record breaking already, as the song gives the band six consecutive #1 singles in a row. The song debuted at #1 on the Alternative chart and #3 on Active Rock chart. In addition to its radio impact, "What I've Done" has already sold over 100,000 downloads on iTunes.

Linkin Park's new album, Minutes to Midnight, co-produced by vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, is due out on May 15 via Machine Shop/Warner Bros. Meanwhile, singer Chester Bennington is teaming up with a t-shirt screen printer from Irvine, CA to launch a Rock Roll clothing line called Ve'cel. The new threads will be available starting in August.

The 24th installment of the Now That's What I Call Music compilation series is sitting atop the sales chart this week as it sold another 213,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Tim McGraw's new album is holding strong at #2, while Country star Martina McBride debuts at #3 this week with Waking Up Laughing, which sold 143,681 copies in its first week. Hilary Duff debuts at #4 with Dignity, which moved about 140,000 units, and Rapper/producer Timbaland bowed at #5 with his new CD, Shock Value.

Other notable sales debuts this week came from Paul Wall at #8 with Get Money Stay True, Chevelle at #12 with Vena Sera, Kings Of Leon at #25 with Because of the Times, The Academy Is...

at #32 with Santi, and Static-X at #36 with Cannibal. The Tennessee home of late Country icons Johnny and June Carter Cash burned down on Tuesday as renovations were under way for its new owner, Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees (we'll skip the "Ring Of Fire" pun if you don't mind). Johnny Cash and his wife lived together in the lakeside house from 1968 until they died within months of each other in 2003.

The house also was featured in Cash's Grammy-winning video for "Hurt." A local newspaper, the Hendersonville Star News, quoted a fire official as saying the blaze probably started when fumes from a wood preservative used in the renovations were ignited by a spark.
Rage Against The Machine members Tom Morello and Zack de la Rocha will actually play together once before their high-profile reunion gig at the Coachella festival in Indio, California, which will take place the weekend of April 27-29.

According to NME.com, Morello and de la Rocha are set to play for free at the 2007 Coalition of Immokalee Workers Truth Tour in Chicago on April 14. The rally comes after the announcement that McDonalds will meet the demands of the CIW, an organization whose members are largely immigrant working in low-wage jobs.

The duo will be part of a parade that makes its way through downtown Chicago and returns to Federal Plaza for a celebration with CIW members. Fabolous has teamed up with Ne-Yo for his new single, "Make Me Better," which was produced by Timbaland. The song hits radio nationwide this week, and will officially impact at Urban and Rhythmic formats on May 14 and 15.

Fab's fourth album, From Nothin' To Somethin', is due on June 12. In addition to Ne-Yo, the album features guest stars like Young Jeezy, Rihanna, Akon, Swizz Beats and Lloyd.
Are The Police working on a new record while rehearsing for their reunion tour?

The New York Daily News is reporting the band recorded some demos, hoping to get a new deal for an album to support this year. However, the demos were similar to Sting's quieter solo material. However, an Interscope source told the paper, "There was no demo.

We haven't heard any new music." The Police tour begins in Vancouver on May 2.
Blur drummer Dave Rowntree is running for office in England.

According to the BBC, Rowntree plans to run for a seat on Westminster Council on May 3, 2007. Rowntree, who is standing for the Labour party, admits he faces a tough fight to get onto the Tory-held council. But he said he wanted to address the extreme deprivation in some parts of Westminster, one of England's richest boroughs.

In an interview posted on YouTube, Rowntree says he is a long-standing member of the Labour Party who was chairman of his local branch. He also said nine Westminster wards were among the most deprived in England, adding, "I think somebody needs to do something about that."
The Chemical Brothers will release We Are The Night, the Electronica duo's sixth album, on June 19.

The lead single is "Do It Again," featuring Ali Love. Seal will hit the road in May for a two-week U.S.

tour during which he plans to preview songs that he's working on for a new album. It will be Seal's first studio full-length since 2003's Seal IV. The tour begins on May 15 in Westbury, NY and concludes May 30 in Dallas.

Seal will spend June and July on tour in Europe.
