Now that tweener Gina Glocksen has been kicked off "American Idol," the remaining eight singers can be divided neatly into a Top 4 and a Bottom 4.

Here are the pros and cons of who's left on Fox's top-rated singing contest, ranked from best to worst: Blake Lewis Pro: He's the most marketable of the top four singers, with a hip radio-friendly sound. Con: He's not the best singer. Jordin Sparks Pro: Music-buying "Idol" fans love young women who can belt it out (see: Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson).

Con: Inexperience could catch up to the 17-year-old. Melinda Doolittle Pro: She looks like a pro up there, as the judges always remind us. Con: That's because she is a pro.

LaKisha Jones Pro: She's probably the best pure singer. Con: So why aren't her performances more memorable? Phil Stacey Pro: He has a fantastic voice when he's on.

Con: He's not always on -- and often makes poor song choices. Chris Richardson Pro: His contemporary stylings are right in tune with today's pop hits. Con: He sounds too nasal.

Haley Scarnato Pro: She has a sweet voice and personality. Con: She counts too much on using her looks to distract from a weak vocal delivery. Sanjaya Malakar Pro: He knows his way around a hairbrush.

Con: Lack of talent, compared with other finalists, has made him a running joke. Star Tribune. All rights reserved.
