The BBC films at the cathedral over the Easter weekend, with some footage to be shown live on BBC One and some services to be broadcast at a later date. On Easter Saturday, the cathedral hosts a full immersion baptism service in the Cathedral Ruins at 5.30pm, which will feature in a BBC Easter special the following day.

And on Easter Sunday, the cathedral's morning service will be broadcast live. The singing will be filmed from 7pm to 10.30pm, with Songs Of Praise presenter Diane Louise Jordan and singer songwriter Graham Kendrick both attending.

The event is ticket only, but a few seats remain, so anyone who wants to sing should arrive at the cathedral for 6.15pm. Canon Adrian Daffern, who is in charge of the cathedral's services, said: "One million people are expected to watch our Easter service live on television.

"We hope lots of people from Coventry will want to come and be with us for the service, whether they normally go to church or not." But the cathedral's Easter events do not end there. On Monday, the cathedral hosts a free 1940s day from 10am to 4pm.

The day will commemorate the second major Coventry blitz on April 8 and 9, 1941, which, although less famous than the raid which destroyed the cathedral in 1940, actually took more lives. Throughout the day, there will be swing music from Christopher Evans Friends, while 36 Fire Force will be on hand teaching visitors how to put out fires – 1940s style. The public can also visit the Blitz Experience Museum and climb the old cathedral tower.
