-Today marks the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and CBC-TV and CBC Newsworld are airing the dedication of the restored Vimy Memorial in France throughout the day. The Queen and Prime Minister Stephen Harper are among dignitaries set to attend. (CBC) -Looking for something a bit more light-hearted following the solemn Vimy events?

The improvisational comedy "Thank God You're Here" premieres tonight with guest stars Jennifer Coolidge, Bryan Cranston, Joel McHale and Wayne Knight (better known as Newman on "Seinfeld"). The series, which originated in Australia, sees performers walking into a live sketch, sans script, and acting off the cue "Thank God you're here," spoken by someone in the scene. Canadian comedian Dave Foley judges each sketch and proclaims a winner.

(NBC) -You'd think that after nine seasons of mostly frayed relationships, the girls who enter "The Bachelor" pad wouldn't get so emotional about the whole thing. But alas, one of the contestants vying for suitor Andy's heart melts down tonight when she doesn't get enough attention during a group date. Last week, ousted contestant Lindsay flipped out after not getting a rose and called the bachelor "short" with a big head and teeth that "look fake.

" (Citytv) -The nine stars left on "Dancing With the Stars" tackle the waltz and the paso doble tonight. Contestant Heather Mills, immersed in a bitter divorce from Paul McCartney, is proving a strong competitor despite her artificial leg but is crumbling emotionally behind the scenes. In a tearful interview last week, she complained about being unfairly labelled a "gold-digger" in the media and said she's only guilty of falling "in love with someone madly.

" (ABC, CTV) -Serious star power arrives on "American Idol" tonight as Jennifer Lopez coaches the eight remaining finalists in Latino music in a pre-taped segment before the live performances. Should be interesting to see JLo's take on Sanjaya. (CTV, Fox) -As the "Saturday Night Live" church lady used to say: "How convenient!

" House and Cuddy spring to action when a passenger onboard their flight becomes violently ill on tonight's episode of "House." House suspects meningitis is behind the illness, which also infects Cuddy. (Global, Fox) -"Black Gold" on "Independent Lens" profiles the challenges faced by small coffee growers around the world.

(PBS) -Television has never quite been the same in the absence of Edina and Patsy, the drunken degenerate heroines of the BBC classic "Absolutely Fabulous." A repeat of season 1 begins airing tonight with back-to-back episodes. (BBC Canada).

-Jack Bauer ...

er, make that Kiefer Sutherland ...

lends his dulcet tones tonight to the narration of "Selling Sex in Heaven," a powerful documentary that explores the sex-trade industry in the Philippines and how it traps so many desperate young women. If you can get past the vague sensation that this is yet another global threat Jack Bauer is trying to eradicate, this heart-wrenching film is definitely worth a look. (CBC Newsworld) -In the wake of J.

T.'s shocking death on "Degrassi: The Next Generation," Emma is convinced his stabbing by a thug who was urinating on his car is being glossed over, and she makes sure everyone knows how she feels. Meanwhile, Marco suspects Dylan is cheating on him.

He calls on Jimmy and Spinner to help catch Dylan in the act. (CTV) -Jack is joyously - and finally - reunited with his fellow castaways on tonight's episode of "Lost" until they realize he's with one of the Others. Claire, meanwhile, is stricken by a mysterious and deadly illness.

(CTV, ABC) -Starting tonight, the results edition of "American Idol" expands to a full hour for three episodes. (CTV, Fox) -Remember the husky-voiced Kate Jackson, the smart angel on "Charlie's Angels"? She's back, looking great (though certainly Botoxed), playing Agent Pretiss's mother, Ambassador Elizabeth Prentiss, on the FBI drama "Criminal Minds" tonight.

She asks the team to help locate a Russian immigrant who has been kidnapped and held for ransom. It's heartwarming to see one of the Angels still working amid Farrah Fawcett's recent health scare. (CBS) -It's the season 1 finale of "Friday Night Lights," the critically adored drama about a high-school football team.

Tonight's show sees the Panthers gear up for the big game, the state championship, as rumours circulate about whether Coach Taylor will accept a job at Texas Methodist University and Tami receives some surprising news. (NBC) -At long last, "ER" is back with a new episode tonight after an absence that had fans wondering if the riveting medical drama would ever return. The show picks up right where it left off: Sam, pining for Alex on her birthday, has to contend with an intrusive photographer, played by Annabella Sciorra, taking pictures of a terminally ill patient, while Dubenko's new surgical intern unsettles Neela, who is no longer the star of the surgical service.

(NBC) -It's highlight night on ABC: both "Ugly Betty" and "Grey's Anatomy" are featuring hour-long episodes showcasing the season's best moments from the two hit series. Even regular viewers of "Betty" should get a kick out of taking in, once again, some of the great lines delivered by Wilhelmina, Mark and Amanda, Betty's catty co-workers at Mode magazine. And Jeffrey Dean Morgan - better known as Denny Duquette, the man whose demise sent Izzie into an emotional tailspin - hosts the "Grey's Anatomy" celebration.

(ABC) -"Love Rides: Cameron and Justin" is timely. Timberlake recently complained to Details magazine about how much he loathed celebrity gossip magazines for their non-stop coverage of his high-profile romances with Cameron Diaz and Britney Spears. It's true his four-year relationship with Diaz hogged magazine covers, but did her jealousy about his friendship with Scarlett Johansson, who was in his "What Goes Around" video, contribute to their breakup?

Get the scoop! (Star) -Season 6 of the British show "What Not to Wear" is upon us, with new hosts - supermodel Lisa Butcher and soul singer Mica Paris - taking the style-challenged on a journey towards better self-esteem. Upcoming episodes include style makeovers for women who have recently had mastectomies.

(BBC Canada) -It can be tough slogging for TV fans on Friday nights. Those desperate for something - anything! - to watch might consider tuning in to "White Chicks," the Wayans brothers movie inspired, apparently, by Paris Hilton and her ilk.

It looks so bad it might be good. The vulgar farce features two bumbling black FBI agents posing as rich white party girls to solve a crime. (Fox) -If you're a Woody Allen fan and you can stand the nails-on-a-chalkboard sound of Jennifer Tilly's voice, tune in to "Bullets Over Broadway," that 1994 gem starring John Cusack and Dianne Wiest.

Remember Wiest's trademark line, "Don't speak!"? The film also features Edie Falco, who, of course, went on to TV fame in "The Sopranos.

" (Bravo) -And of course, Friday night on TV is never a total wash when Stacy London and Clinton Kelly are around. In tonight's episode of "What Not to Wear," fashion's dynamic duo help out a preschool teacher who is newly single and recently lost 30 pounds. London's new chat show "Shut Up!

It's Stacy London" is also on tonight. (TLC) -Can't get enough of those celebrity magazine issues where the stars are shown in their high-school yearbook looking every bit as painfully geeky as the rest of us? "101 Favorite Stars Way Back When" is just what the doctor ordered.

Sit back and enjoy today's A-list celebs long before they were famous and discovered eyebrow tweezers, porcelain veneers, peroxide and liposuction. (Star) -And continuing on that theme, "True Hollywood Stories Investigates: Starving for Perfection" explores Hollywood's obsession with being thin. The show follows the stories of men and woman who have put their lives at risk in their quest to look superstar fabulous.

(Fashion Television Channel) -Hmmmm ...

yes, indeed, we do seem to be stuck in a rut here, but why not? It's Saturday! If you're a fan of "America's Next Top Model" but could do without the apparent lunacy that can often overcome Tyra Banks, check out "Britain's Next Top Model" as the girls visit Paris.

Same drama, same cattiness, same backstabbing - but no Tyra! (Fashion Television Channel) -Former NDP MP Svend Robinson - perhaps best remembered for his weepy news conference a few years back in which he explained why he stole a ring - shows up tonight on the comedy series "Robson Arms." Juno Award-winner Colin James also guest stars.

(CTV) -Oh, those crazy "Trailer Park Boys." Tonight's episode focuses on Ricky's near-deranged pursuit to discover who's the real father of Lucy's baby. Is it Bubbles?

Julian? J-Roc? Tune in for the shocking revelation.

(Showcase) -The premiere of the mob-themed slasher flick "Cleaver" has Tony rethinking his relationship with Christopher as "The Sopranos" kicks off its final season. That's followed immediately by more light-hearted fare on "Entourage" as Johnny Drama and Turtle head to the dog park to pick up girls and Ari Gold enlists his ever-abused assistant, Lloyd, to help him snag a gay client. (The Movie Network/Movie Central) -It's a new episode of "Desperate Housewives" tonight as Tom feels threatened by the interest that a new pizzeria employee is showing in Lynette.

The increasingly tiresome Susan considers moving away - yes, please - while one Wisteria Lane neighbour's darkest secret is revealed. (CTV) -It's down to the final four tonight on "The Apprentice," the Donald Trump show that has lost some steam this season. The candidates must choose employees to help them write and direct a mini-movie.
