Pop Trash is an album released in 2000 by . The album marked their first release not under / , with whom they'd been signed since 1981. The band left Capitol in 1998 and signed with .

During the making of this album, suffered from a severe case of writer's block, so keyboard player and guitarist took on more of the songwriting than usual.
Pop Trash, unlike previous Duran Duran releases, focused on a more modern, pop-like sound, and thus, fans did not appreciate it as much. The album continues where Medazzaland left off; pop, funk, and electronica fused together.

The album is probably one of Duran Duran's most diverse. 'Lava Lamp' focused on flanged drums and intricate guitars, while 'Someone Else Not Me' was a pop ballad.
This album was poorly promoted and did not sell well.

In March 2001, the band announced they had parted ways with and went without a record deal for a couple of years while touring.
The lead single "Someone Else Not Me" only peaked at #53 in the UK, however it made the top 10 in .
