Pop singer Avril Lavigne will tie the knot with Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley today in California, according to media reports in the US. The Canadian couple began dating in early 2004 and Whibley proposed during Lavigne s European tour last June. The ceremony will be held at a luxurious private estate called Lilybell in Montecito, California, near Santa Barbara.
The wedding was originally scheduled for August, but was moved up because of intense media interest. Members of Lavigne s family were informed of the new wedding plans just days ago and arrived Friday to begin preparations. Approximately 150 guests are expected to join the couple at the estate, which is 100 miles (161 kilometres) north of the home the couple shares in Bel Air, California.
