A previously unpublished photograph of the Beatles at the Abbey Road Studios in North London has been revealed.

The picture shows the band discussing their album Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club and is noteworthy because it depicts Paul McCartney wearing glasses - a rarity in photographs of the band.

The musician reportedly refrained from wearing glasses in public because it was such a huge part of John Lennon's image.

Friends of McCartney told the Daily Mail: "He was always very conscious that John was famous for his glasses.

"He felt that it was important to maintain their image and John's glasses were part of that. His eyesight is also pretty good, so he didn't need to wear them much.

"

The image was taken by Frank Herrmann on March 30, 1967. To celebrate this release, the creators of the film are inviting the UK's 300 ultimate 300 fans to step forward and become immortalised in the official 300 army forever..
