Holmstrom lifts Red Wings over Blues

St. Louis, MO - Tomas Holmstrom scored two goals to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues at Scottrade Center.


Valtteri Filppula scored his first career goal for the Red Wings, who have won their last three games.
Chris Osgood stopped 28 shots for Detroit, which has won five straight and 11 of its last 12 games against St. Louis.


Bill Guerin and Radek Dvorak each had a goal and Manny Legace, facing his former team for the first time, stopped 22 shots for the Blues, who have dropped three of their last four contests.
Pavel Datsyuk skated into the zone and left a drop pass for Holmstrom, who net at the 4:33 mark.
