Britney Spears, Kevin Federline agree to divorce settlement

After two years and two children, the marriage between and has its days numbered. Four and a half months after first filed for divorce from , and less than two weeks after checked out of the Promises rehab facility in Malibu, California, Spears and her estranged husband, Kevin Federline have agreed to terms for the impending divorce.
People magazine were the first to report the news, as and move towards the last step of their divorce, which is to have a judge ratify the agreement.

Terms of the divorce settlement were not reported to the media, though 's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told People magazine that "The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children."

While the comprehensive divorce settlement between and means that their marriage is effectively over, TMZ has reported on what it believes are some of the details of the divorce. TMZ reports that Laura Wasser, the attorney for , crafted an airtight prenuptial agreement that will see get roughly $1 million, half of the proceeds from the sale of their Malibu home, and any gifts under $10,000 from to K-Fed.

As well, Spears and Federline will have joint custody of the couple's two children, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

and were married in a quiet ceremony on September 18, 2004. The couple had been married for almost exactly a year when gave birth to her first child, Sean Preston Federline, on September 14, 2005.

Again, almost exactly one year later, gave birth to Jayden James Federline, on September 12, 2006. Less than eight weeks after the birth of Jayden James, filed for divorce from K-Fed, marking the beginning of the end of Britney's second marriage.

The divorce settlement between and comes less than two weeks after Britney completed a one-month stint at the Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facility, where Spears was treated for an undisclosed problem.

Spears had previously6 attempted to seek treatment from various rehab centers, though she could not manage to stay in a facility for more than a day. Finally, on her third try, Britney stuck it out at the Promises rehab facility for her 28-day stint. The trip to rehab was sought after Spears began exhibiting bizarre behavior, including an incident in February where the singer shaved off all her hair.
