The Blues have extended their lead on top of the Rebel Sport Super 14 ladder after an 18-11 win over a spirited Chiefs side in Hamilton.
The Blues trailed 11-8 at the break, but tries to Keven Mealamu and Doug Howlett in a five minute period midway through the second-half secured the win for the visitors.
The Chiefs took the lead at halftime following a try to former Blues first-five Tasesa Lavea and two penalties to Stephen Donald.

Jerome Kaino scored the Blues' try in the first half while Isa Nacewa kicked a penalty goal.
The Blues now sit seven points clear of the second place Force, while the Chiefs remain in 11th.
