Hundreds of Japanese professional and amateur musicians have set a new world record for a non-stop concert. They performed about 2,000 tunes consecutively in a performance that lasted 182 hours.
The concert began on the evening of March 23 in the western Japanese city of Omi, with musicians aged between 6 and 96 taking turns in the relay.
An official of London-based Guinness World Records attended and approved the new record. The previous world record was set in Canada in 2001 with a performance lasting 181 hours.
