Rolling Stones Euro tour: 'It's going to be a lot of fun' | Sound Generator

The Rolling Stones confirmed the next leg of their 'A Bigger Bang' tour last night via a live webcast from London. Mick Jagger confirmed 20 new dates across Europe, starting in June with a headline appearance at the Isle Of Wight festival. He said: "I was just speaking to Ronnie on the telephone, he's really looking forward to it.

Keith is really up for it and Charlie is really looking forward to it. We'll be there. We're very happy to do this tour in Europe.

It's going to be a lot of fun." He said of the Isle of Wight festival: "It's going to be a really good three day event," before praising acts including Amy Winehouse, Snow Patrol and Muse. The band headline the iconic festival on June 10th.

Other notable stops on the new tour - which kicks off on June 5th in Werchter Park in Belgium, include a concert at Slane Castle in Dublin on August 18th, as well as concert slots in Serbia and the Ukraine for the first time. A number of dates include concerts rescheduled from last year, which were pulled following guitarist Keith Richards' head injury.
