I am hearing/getting alot of stuff about this so I mind as well fuel the promo fire to make it a blaze. It is for a worthy cause as Pearl Jam definately are one of the most influential rock bands of this age. Here s the D-LOW.
Then after the show head to for some more good stuff.
Well I missed it cause I decided to go out, how was it everybody? I m sure they ll be playing repeats forever.
Onto the July 4th weekend, bar-b-que, booze, and music. Not in that order, usually all mixed together. I thought I d mention some good weekend music and a few mp3 s for your enjoyment.
In my opinion a bbq is pretty much nothing without classic rock. I m talking Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and so on. Find your record player and bust out the record collection for your friends to gawk over.
If you are someplace hard to maintain a record player, make sure you fill up your ipod or whatever player with some good classic rock to eat your hamburger and drink your beer to.
Now onto a few summertime songs. Basically my theme is dancable and fun.
Phoenix is an amazing band on so many levels, music that catches your attention and can dance to.
I m happy this duo are getting some more coverage, tracks
The list could of course go on and on and even start mentioning 90 s bands and all the other perfect weekend music.
If you get a chance, do something as constructive as this:
This video is my first exposure to David Ford and I am simply amazed.
This video in a mathematical equation: (we all hate math but this is good)
Extremely talented musicion + passionate lyrics + indie film making = one of the best music videos I have seen this year.
You must watch this video yes it is long but right around 6 minutes crazy things start happening and he keeps picking up new instruments and singing his heart out. His music and style remids me a bit of David Gray and James Blunt.
Moreso David Gray if you have seen some of his in the making footage for his latest album With out a doubt I see David Fords music spreading across the globe.
Tell me if that makes sense. A high of 96 with lighting?!
? It s super hot out here in the Inland Empire, specifically Pomona/Walnut/West Covina area. Sooo music for today?
How about a couple songs that I am currently really enjoying.
First off, Damone. This chica can rock and I m sure most of you have heard this song.
It s catchy, it s rock, it s awesome.
How about a remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Y-Control. This song has aways been the best for me on the The new ish is good.
. but ehhhh I still like Fever to Tell more. Thanks for the track
Then onto some LA rock by the ever popular Rock Kills Kid.
I heard on Sirius this morning that some journalist said their name was too long. The DJ disagreed, as do I. Head to their myspace to listen to thier single Paralyzed, and download Hide Away here.
Then today I found out that Tijuana is an emerging art spot?!?
huh? Well, it sounds cool enough even for one of the dirtiest cities I ve ever been to, and I can say that cause I m for San Diego and been there many a time. Just head down a few more miles to Rosarito or farther Ensanada.
It gets better the farther you go down on the coats. This morning I pull up the music library and The Lovemakers called my name. The Lovemakers make sexually energized dance rock.
It s awesome. Shake That Ass is a fun song, and especially the remix Shake That 50 Cent (50 Cent vs. The Lovemakers) Their latest album came out last year and is filled with all kinds of good tracks.
They are currently out playing some shows here on the west coast and from what I ve heard they are a band to see live. Even their bio has a bit
Their live show was recently described by a (possibly intoxicated) audience member in their native Oakland, California as a pink Ferrari driving through a mountain of coke. [ ]
Just for that quote, I really want to see them live.
Make sure to head over to their for sexy videos and pictures.
