As part of JAMCL feature on Black History Month we will give our fellow webbites information on some Black Men who have either touched, changed or traced the future of Black People in the World.
Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech in August 28, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.

C. is until this day one of the most inspiring speeches of all time.
In that speech Martin Luther King addressed the issues of Black people being segregated and that he was dreaming of a day when the Black man and the White man will finally live in harmony, and that Black People will finally be free.

The late Robert Nesta 'Bob' Marley is a World reknown Reggae Singer from the inner city of Trench Town in Kingston Jamaica, the Capitol of this Caribbean Island.
Bob Marley has accomplished what many a artiste only dream about.
He placed Jamaica on the map with his songs of inspiration and upliftment.

Though Marley died from 1981 he is still regarded as the Greatest Reggae artist ever lived, and his popularity is still high, the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has also used his songs and the Reggae genre along with the white sand beaches and scenic surroundings to advertise Jamaica as a good vacation location.
Venus and Serena Williams arrived on the Island yesterday for a two-day visit.
While here the sisters will be conducting tennis clinics with the children and hanging out in Jamaica.

Base on an interview on Talking Sport last night it seems as if the sisters are enjoying themselves.
I wish I had the time to go and check them out myself. Just having them in Jamaica is an inspiration.

As one of the children said "It felt good hitting the ball back to them".
The sisters look a little tiered though and I would encourage them to stay a little longer in Jamaica. Relax on the beach get their hair done and get their groove on.

If you love Venus and Serena leave your comments and number they might just see it and give you a call.

Chopper down in Iraq, We have enough of this

The US military has reported (Wednesday Feb, 07) that another chopper went down in IRAQ. Base on the reports ten (10) persons were on board.

The insurgents are claiming responsibility.
This news has increased the frustration level as with regards to the war in IRAQ. I can just imagine the grief that the family members of those troops are facing today.

What do you think should be done to end the war in IRAQ?
c) Have dialog with the insurgents?
d) Ask for assistance from other Arab countries?

A famous quote from Marcus Mosiah Garvey the first inducted hero of Jamaica is 'Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds.'
For many years Mr. Garvey worked aucidiously to empower the black race with speeches, and examplerary character and movement up the social ladder.

Marcus Mosiah Garvey National Hero of Jamaica (August 17, 1887– June 10, 1940) was a publisher, journalist, entrepreneur, Black nationalist, and founder of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League (UNIA-ACL).
I have been friends with this girl for about three years. We have become very close over that time.

We hang out a lot, we have gotten physical in the past (no sex), but always kept it loose. We even 'sleep together' on occasion.
Here is my problem.

I have fallen in love with her. She knows about it, and is not completely opposed to the idea of us dating. However, she doesn't want to lose me as a friend if we were to break up.

She has in the past been in situations like ours and has lost good friends because of it. I really want to see what could happen with this relationship. I just have no idea what I should do, because in my heart I know I can't go back.

Any ideas?
Sincerely, 'Confused'
The Indian Police are currently investigating Jamaican and West Indies all-rounder Marlon Samuels for having telephone conversations with an unauthorised bookmaker on the eve of their one day International against India in the Asian Continent last month.
If the allegations are true Samuels could be sanctioned for breaching the ICC code of regulations, with regards for giving out information about his team.

However, the West Indies Cricket Board did not offer a comment as they will be carrying out their own investigations on the matter.
Do you have a ex-girl or ex-boyfriend that constantly calls your home and cellular phones?
Well welcome to the club, from my experience and information from other ex-mates can be a dangerous ingredient in the disintegration of your current relationship.

There are cases where the 'ex' act has if their phone calls to you is a mere harmless one, it first take on that nature with questions like :"How are you? How is work?, Is your mother doing ok?

", stuffs like that. Then eventually, it moves from the phone calls, to wanting to meet you at a set location, then the home environment is discussed, and before you know it the same ex is actually making passes at you, and demanding you back into their life.

Where to go for Valentines Day?

The phrase: 'Different strokes for different folks' can best characterize the frame of mind that members of the public have for the best place to be on Valentines Day.
For Jermaine, the fun place to be with his 'main squeeze' is at Devon House.
It's a good place for 'making out' (kissing, hugging girl friend), talking out, buying her some ice cream things like that, just chill the night away," Jermaine told JAMCL.

Devon House is known for as a popular night spot for lovers and that should be the case this Valentines Day.
Emancipation Park: Chill on the benches, get close to the love i love," one couple said.
Another couple said that they will enjoy a fun filled day at 'Putt play' as they will like different rides there.

There are traveling secrets anywhere you travel. This article will tell you key travel you should know before traveling to Barbados. Don’t miss the travel tips at the end!

Barbados is a beautiful island and an excellent vacation spot. It is one of the best islands in the Caribbean.
The currency is Barbados is the Barbados dollar or the Bajan.

It is 1.98 the US dollars. So basically $20 Barbados is about $10 US, give or take a little.

Items and services in Barbardos are not cheap. They are about the equivalent of items or services in the US.
A nice dinner for two with wine will run you $100 US.

Souvenirs are $20 - $35 for t-shirts, $10-14 for towels, mugs, etc.
Natuarally, as it is almost anywhere you travel, the domestic goods are much cheaper than imported items.
When you arrive in Barbados at the airport and claim your bags you will walk out of the terminal to buses, taxis and shuttle transport.

It is best to pre-arrange a shuttle to and from your hotel. The taxi ride from the airport will run $20-60 depending on the distance to your hotel and size of taxi you require. The shuttle will charge for surfboard bags and some other large oversized items.

Do not pay more than $5.
For some strange reason valentines day this year seem to be low key. These are five reason I think this is so:
1.

Most people don't have no red and white clothes, not very fashionable.
2. Pocket empty no money to buy anything this year.

3. Not much love in the air.
4.

Lots of broken hearts out there, as a result resentment against love and anything that represent it.
5. Lots of single people no one to share the day with.

Ever wondered how February 14 became, the day on which we celebrate and explore love in all its many ideals, Valentines Day.
There are many differing opinions on how Valentines Day started.
One story say that when the Roman Empire reigned, a festival every February was held in honour of the God of Fertility and during this time, young men would choose their mate.

When a Emperor named Claudius can around, he outlawed all marriages in fear that the men would not be able to fight. Young couples still fell in love though and still wished to marry and they took these desires to the Catholic Bishop Valentine who, understanding love, began to secretly marry couples. When Claudius found out, he had Valentine arrested and ordered put to death.

While waiting in jail, Valentine began exchanging letters with the jailers daughter and soon had fallen in love with her. The day he was to be beheaded, he wrote her one last note and signed it: From Your Valentine.
What part of you is only 1% to 3% of your body's mass, yet uses 20% of all the oxygen you breathe?

Your brain! Here are ten more brain facts.
- Your brain needs a continuous supply of oxygen.

A 10 minute loss of oxygen will usually cause significant neural damage. Cold can lengthen this time, which is why cold-water drowning victims have been revived after as nuch as 40 minutes - without brain damage.
- Your brain uses a fifth of all your blood.

It needs it to keep up with the heavy metabolic demands of its neurons. It needs not only the glucose that is delivered, but of course, the oxygen.
- Your brain feels no pain.

There are no nerves that register pain within the brain itself. Because of this, neurosurgeons can probe the brain while a patient is conscious (what fun!).

By doing this, they can use feedback from the patient to identify important regions, such as those used for speech, or visualization.

Some women may or may not know when they are 1 month pregnant, and if not, it’s only a matter of time until the symptom of pregnancy become visible.

A ignore period is usually the first sign, which may also be accompanied by sore breasts, weakness, faintness, vomiting, light spot, or mild pain. If using the calendar method of calculation, being 1 month pregnant means that it has been one month since the start of the last menstrual period.
Ovulation usually occurs around the fourteenth day or midway through the menstrual cycle, and after the egg has been fertilized by the sperm,it takes another ten to fourteen days for the newly formed seed to insert in the uterine inside layer.

During implantation it is quite normal for some light mark to occur, but if bleeding is heavy or bright or dark red thena doctor should be consulted, that is if the woman knows she is pregnant. Otherwise, the mark could be seen as the start of the menstrual round.
