Edna Gundersen has the first thorough examination of what's on the new remixed Beatles album, called to distinguish it from all those inferior, partially or fully lower-case projects of the same name. She also interviews father-and-son producers George and Giles Martin about how they put together and reshaped bits and pieces of various Beatles songs.
One of the sub-themes of the story is the potential for other artists to try something similar.

If this album hits the top of the charts and revitalizes the Beatles catalog, will acts such as The Doors, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna jump on the bandwagon? (Or would that be too crass an imitation? As if that ever stopped anybody .

..).

So which artists would you like to see start mashing up their catalogs? Which of their songs would work best together? You might give somebody a lucrative idea .
